Thank goodness. Bentley’s owner got in touch with us finally. He was out of the country, and had cancelled his data plan while traveling, hence why I couldn’t get in touch with him. Bullyproject.org worked hard to track him down and used their resources (far superior to mine) to get in touch with his sister, who then got the message to the owner.

The rescue group spoke to Bentley’s owner quite a bit, and I can assure you he loves Bentley and is very happy to have him back. He was so thankful that we took care of his pup. When the owner’s his sister came to retrieve him yesterday Bentley wiggled and wagged his tail so hard it was hitting him in the face. He jumped straight into their car without hesitation and the girls laughed and talked about how hyper he is and how happy their brother was going to be.

So there you have it folks. Thank you so much to Josh and Jessica at Bullyproject.org. Without you Bentley might not have gotten home. You guys taught me great training skills, gave me moral support, and worked so hard for this pup. And thanks to Bonnie and Scott for taking Bentley for a walk that night I was pulling my hair out because I couldn’t believe I had just brought a dog home omgwhatwasithinking. And thank you Danielle for offering support, and Daniel for being an awesome boyfriend and my parents for being parents and all the puppies for being cute and flowers for smelling nice and also God and the baby Jesus. You know, just because and stuff.

Also, if anyone needs a pet sitter just say hey. Apparently I’m good with dogs.

I waited a long time to adopt a dog of my own, because I never felt I was in a stable enough place - emotionally/financially/etc. Then one day, in the middle of a very tough year, I just did it. To my eternal surprise, turns out having a dog is exactly what I needed to create the stability and structure we both needed. The chicken and egg were one and the same, who knew? But my real point is, Bentley is very lucky he was found by you. Thank you for being his bridge to a better life. :)

Thank you for the support! I do love this guy, and he has definitely added structure, as well as a welcome distraction at times, to my life. I am lucky to have found him, really.
